» LIVING A LIFE OF DARKNESS-SCROLL 5

David woke up the next morning and felt the weight of an arm wrapped around him. He smiled remembering last night. David gently removed Dorian's arm from around his waist and placed it on the bed. Dorian stirred and opened his eyes. He rubbed his eyes to wake himself up a little. He pulled David closer and placed a small kiss on his forehead, "David?"

"What?"

"Are you happy?" Dorian pushed some hair out of David's face so he could look into his eyes.

"How could I not be?" David answered, Dorian smiled and placed a small kiss on David's lips. He lingered there a few seconds before pulling away.

"I love you." Dorian whispered, David couldn't help but smile. He was amazed at how fast their relationship developed but yet it still felt so right. He felt that if he ever left Dorian he wouldn't be able to survive.

"I love you, too." Dorian leaned in and his lips met David's, his tongue sneaking into David's mouth. The kiss didn't last long but it was enough. The two climbed out of bed and got dressed in the clothes that littered the floor from the night before. Soon the two were flying off into the dusk sky towards the stone circle in the woods.

Mina sat in one of the stone chairs that formed the circle. She had stayed there alone all night except for an occasional visit from Lucifer. Lucifer tried to be a good friend but he was just plain irritating and Mina didn't like having him around much. She sighed but then spotted two bats flying towards the circle, "They're back!" she shouted, happy to finally have some good company. Soon the two men were standing in front of Mina, Dorian had his arm around David's waist and was holding him possessively. They looked incredibly happy. Mina felt a pang of jealousy, she had always loved Dorian but now she didn't even have a chance. She shook the thought from her mind and forced a smile at the two, "Hello Dorian, David. What were you two up to? It sure took you long enough to get back here." She asked not really sure if she wanted to hear the answer.

"Not much really. Just took some time out to realize how much I love David." He pulled David in front of him and David leaned back feeling very content.

"And I realized I loved Dorian." David said happily.

"Well congratulations to both of you." Mina said faking the best smile she could.

"Thank you." They said in unison. David freed himself from Dorian's grip and sat in one of the chairs. Dorian sat in the chair next to him. He pulled David up and over to him.

"Sit." He commanded and David gladly sat in the larger man's lap. Mina couldn't take it anymore and she walked off leaving David and Dorian alone. She knew she would have to get over this but she wasn't sure if she could. After walking far out into the woods contemplating what to do she had an idea. She started walking back. It seemed like ages before she finally returned to the circle. David and Dorian were nowhere in site. She looked around the area before noticing the night sky through the trees, "Hunting," she said to out loud and gloomily sat down on one of the stone chairs. She would tell him when they got back.

Dorian had taken David to the same alleyway they had visited the night before. Tonight it didn't seem as though they would get anyone for a while. David was crouched close to Dorian as they waited, occasionally sharing a kiss or two between random conversations. Soon one kiss had turned more passionate and Dorian was on top of David in the alleyway, their moment was soon interrupted when loud footsteps were heard heading towards them. Dorian immediately climbed off of David and got back into his crouching position, his thirst was more of a priority right now. As the footsteps got closer the two vampires, now huddled in the shadows, recognized them as police. A smirk played across Dorian's face, "They're investigating last night." Dorian whispered laughing quietly, "They won't be reporting their finds to anyone tonight."

"But there are four of them."

"This is the first night you'll see just how much strength you have." And with that Dorian leaped from the shadows grabbing two of the police and holding them in a death grip. The other two panicked and tried to shoot Dorian but to no avail, the bullets passed right through him and the wounds healed immediately. Dorian just laughed at the two cops who stared in terror as Dorian drained the blood from both the men he was holding. David watched in awe, "David!" He snapped out of his trance and grabbed the two cops who were trying to escape, Dorian smiled, "Go ahead, David, they're all yours." The two men stared at David.

"Y-you're d-demons!" One of the policemen yelled before the fangs penetrated his neck and he was dropped to the ground, lifeless. David did the same to the other man. He licked his lips, savoring the taste of blood, feeling very full. Dorian just looked down at the four dead men.

"Demons," Dorian laughed, "We're simply vampires." Dorian took David into his arms, "I told you four was easy," he whispered into David's ear before pressing his lips to David's and licking at some of the remaining blood around his mouth. David sighed contentedly.

"Dorian," David said looking into the other man's eyes, "Promise you'll never leave me."

"Only if you never leave me." Dorian paused for a second, "I can survive a bullet but I don't know if I'd survive without you." Dorian was shocked at his own words. He was never a very sincere man and never had truly deep feelings but what he felt for David right now was one of the most wonderful things ever to him and he knew David felt the same, he could sense it.

"I would never dream of leaving you." David answered and with that the two flew off once again into the night.
