170 years had passed since the Ketsueki had migrated to The Underworld. It was exactly as they had dreamed it to be, vampires, werewolves, demons, aliens, mutants, all from different countries and backgrounds living together, mostly, without trouble. Underworld organizations had formed all over the world, mostly in the US, many creatures from all countries wanted the same thing American immigrants wanted, freedom. But within the last 40 years a rise in vampire migration has caused a decline in mortal population and New York authorities, as well as other states, had made vampirism illegal creating a higher risk for all vampires in the US. It was hard but so far the still thriving Ketsueki, kept together by David, had safely survived without being caught, and the16 that had come had grown to over 500. David led the largest secondary clan in all 73 sectors of The Underworld, which was a big accomplishment since he had over half the vampire population following him. It was a good life for David, the clan had turned into what Dorian had wanted it to be, a clan of strong loyal vampires. The migration was more successful than any of them could have imagined.

David, now better known as Davey, sat on his computer playing Diablo. The advancements in technology had amazed him and he found much joy in modern entertainment, especially since he had stopped painting. It was back into 1926 when he started a portrait of Dorian that he spent years perfecting, but gave up after realizing that the picture would never catch the beauty of Dorian that he had fallen in love with, and the picture would never love him back. Since then he hadn’t picked up a brush and never had an urge to. The games and shows were his new way to forget, for ever after a century he was still deeply in love. He didn’t even try someone new, despite the many females, and even males, who wanted him.
He sighed as he was defeated by a large monster in the game and quit, staring at the screen as thoughts of Dorian ran through his head. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t hear the door open or the people approaching, “Davey?” Startled, he jumped and was about to attack, but then realized it was only Mina and Kristopher, he smiled.
“Yes?”
“Lucifer’s been caught,” Kristopher said, looking a bit nervous. He was worried Davey would be pissed about it, but he seemed to remain calm, he just sat there, obviously waiting for an explanation, “We were out hunting, a big group of us, and he wandered off. When we saw him again he was being taken away by the downtown police. We just kept walking so we wouldn’t get involved. They plan on questing him...” he trailed off.
“They have him in isolation,” Mina added. Davey’s eyes were red and he was tense, he looked mad, but still continued to be calm.
“Okay, well then I have no choice but to get there first...and kill him. He’s threatened this clan one too many times with his stupidity, we can’t risk it. He doesn’t have any loved ones does he?” Davey asked. He hated having to kill people with loved ones, he felt sympathy for her knew how hard it was to lose someone you love, and didn’t want anyone to go through what he went through.
“No, there’s no one that we know of.” Mina answer.
“Then I must go. You two be careful and warn the other clan members, the police will be on high alert now. I don’t need anyone else getting caught. You guys should get going, there are 500 to announce this to, go!” And with that said Mina and Kristopher walked out the door and Davey flew out the window towards the jail.

Lucifer was in the interrogation room. A large officer was standing over him with a metal rod in one hand and a wooden stake in the other, “One last time, sir, where are the others?” Lucifer cowered in the chair and whimpered, the officer had already hit him a few times. There was dried blood where various wounds once were, they had all healed by now, but they stung, “ANSWER THE QUESTION!” The officer yelled raising his arm up to hit Lucifer again, but was distracted by a crash and glass breaking. Within seconds the officer was on the ground and Davey was standing in his place, his skin a slight pink color from the blood of the officers he had to take down to get inside. Lucifer smiled and ran over to Davey, but was met with a hard blow to the head, he stumbled backwards, “What the FUCK do you think you were doing?! You know we have to be careful, we can’t have them discover where all of us are. You IDIOT! We can’t risk this again, I’m sorry, Lucifer.” Davey pulled a stake from behind his back, Lucifer started to back away with Davey grabbed him, he was weak so he didn’t have to try hard.
“Please, Davey, don...” Lucifer didn’t get to finish his sentence as Davey shoved the stake through his heart and dropped him to the ground. With the task done he began to walk out of the police station. It was raining when he got outside and he decided to walk home since he loved rain. It was only 4 blocks. He let the rain cascade down his pale skin and soak into his clothes. He smiled as he looked up at the night sky, he remembered the old days when he was a young boy and he would lay out in the fields and try and count the stars and his dad would come and sit with him and they’d have long talks. He hadn’t seen his dad since he became a vampire, and obviously he was dead now, Davey was saddened by this. He knew all his relatives were dead and he’d never see them again, but that was one of the disadvantages of being a vampire. He was so lost in his train of thought he didn’t notice the man walking front of him, he crashed right into him, knocking the man over. He quickly reacted by bending down and helping the man up.
“You okay? Sorry about that, I wasn’t looking.” The man looked at him, he was young, no older than 30, and had the most beautiful eyes Davey had ever seen next to Dorian’s.
“No, it’s ok, I’m fine, thank you. G’night sir.” The man said and walked off, it seemed like he was in a rush to get somewhere. Davey just watched him walk away, wondering who that stranger was and where he was going. Little did he know that this man would change his life.
