The next day I had a day off. Well, actually I could take a day off whenever I wanted, all my job consisted of was reading e-mails, choosing the best offers and then making the layouts. That was fun but hundreds of e-mails a day can get tiring, so I decided to just sit around and do...nothing. It feels good to be lazy once in a while.
By that afternoon I had done nothing but sit on my couch with as much junk food I could get and watch TV and movies. It was a commercial and I kind of zoned out for a second, 'I wonder if Davey is actually gonna call...I mean he is busy I'm surprised he even offered to call...' my thoughts were interrupted by the telephone ringing. I jumped up to get it, "Hello?" I said, hoping it was Davey.
"Hey Sarah!" a very familiar voice answered. I sighed.
"Hi Kyle."
"Whoa, I'm sorry, didn't mean to bo-"
"No, I'm sorry, I was just expecting someone else."
"So I’m not special anymore...oh thanks Sarah, I feel loved." he said laughing.
"Ha ha, you know I still love ya. So, what's up?" I asked, happy at the fact that I might actually have something to do today.
"Well I was planning on seeing Tomb Raider with Joanne and Ryan and was wondering if you would like to come along as well?" I thought for a moment, 'Stay home and do nothing, being stupid waiting for a call that probably will never come...or movies......I say movies'
"Sure, I'd love to."
"Awesome, I'll pick you up on the way. I'll be on my way soon so be ready."
"Alright, see you soon." I heard a click and hung up my phone as well. I walked into the bathroom to see what I looked like...not too bad, hair a little messy but I was ok to go out. I really didn't care if people looked at me odd. I went to wait outside knowing that when Kyle said he'd be there soon he would defiantly be there soon. Sure enough as soon as I walked outside Kyle's car pulled up. He rolled down the window.
"SARAH! Come on!" I ran towards the car and hopped in next to Joanne as Kyle sped down the street.
"Do you EVER slow down?" Ryan asked laughing.
"Coffee my friend, coffee." was all Kyle replied with before changing the topic "SO...Sarah, I heard about this Davey famous dude, what's up with him?"
"Well...I met him at 'The Green Fiend' yesterday. He was really nice, I gave him my number but I don't think he's gonna call, I mean he is in a band and all."
"I see...is he cute?" Kyle asked.
I paused for a second, "...Yeah, he is." I blushed.
"Ha ha, Davey and Sarah sitting in a tree..." Kyle started singing before Ryan slapped him for me.
"Thank you. Kyle, you're annoying, you know that right?"
"I try to be." He laughed. We approached the movie theater parking lot and Kyle did almost a 180 into a parking space, he smiled at his handiwork...a nice black streak in the parking lot.
"You're really messed up." Joanne said shaking her head and getting out the car, all of us following.
---------------------------------
Kyle dropped me off back home. I walked inside my apartment and noticed my answering machine was flashing so I went over to check it out. What I heard scared the hell out of me:
Hi Sarah, it's Davey. I guess you're not home, I tried calling a few times. Well...I can't tell you now, it's too much but just...I had no one else to call and I found the paper on my table and decided to call you and I don't know what to do anymore. You have no clue what I'm talking about but...just...
The rest of the message was to incomprehensible between him mumbling and what sounded like crying. There was number at the end but it was also too hard to understand. I just played the message again and again but couldn't figure it out. Shit, I really hope he's ok...I don't even really know the guy and he's got me worrying like crazy. My thought were interrupted by the phone, I ran to pick it up, "Hello?...Hello?!" I heard a click and slammed my phone down, plopping down on the couch nearby. I just sat there, not moving...what was I going to do?
