» AS LONG AS YOU NEED ME-CONFESSIONS

The clock rang loudly in the room and the sun peeked in through the crappy window shades of his room, 'Dammit, I really need new shades'. Davey groaned loudly and rolled over, '6:00am' was flashing on his clock in bright red numbers. He squinted to block the light a little and reached over to turn the obnoxious ringing off. He pulled the covers over his head and closed his eyes again. Not long after a knock on the door awakened Davey once again, "What do you want?" he said groggily.

"You have to get up Davey, we need to get ready!" he heard Hunter yell. Davey then remembered they were doing a radio interview that morning. He sat up in bed.

"But Huuunteeer...do we have to?" Davey said tiredly.

"Yes we have to! NOW MOVE, we're gonna be late!" Hunter yelled through the door before walking off. Davey sat on the edge of the bed and sighed grumbling to himself about how he didn't want to be awake.

--------------------------------------

It had been a few weeks now since meeting Davey and I hadn't heard a word from him since that message. It was worrying me. I told Joanne and Kelsey about it but they didn't know what to do they told me just to sit around and wait for him to call back. I didn't want to wait, I wanted to talk to him. I plopped down on my bed and looked at my clock, '12:07pm', I was hungry but I didn't feel like going out to eat and there was nothing in the house. Then the phone ringed, I jumped at the noise and reached over to grab it, "Hello?"

-------------------------------------- Davey sat in his room after his radio interview, the others had gone out to lunch. '12:00pm' Davey sighed, he knew he should eat something but he didn't feel like it, he took out his journal again and looked at what he had wrote the night before.

'I met an incredible nice girl but what can she do...I was hoping she'd be nice enough to help but why would she believe me?'

He looked over to the phone and then the piece of paper with her number on it. He grabbed the paper and dialed the number, he took a deep breath, she picked up.

--------------------------------------

"Sarah? It's..." a familiar voice.

"DAVEY! You had me so worried!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you. It wasn't my intention, I was just so confused and I'm so..."

"Shhh, it's ok. Just as long as I know you're okay and you didn't do anything drastic. That message scared me." I heard a sigh from his end.

"Okay...I think I'm ready to tell someone...but can we meet somewhere?" he asked sounding a little hesitant.

"Of course. Where did you have planned?"

"Well I could pick you up and then we'll go to that old bike path. I don't really want anyone to be close-by."

"Where ever you want." I replied, really not caring where he took me.

"Thanks..." The conversation continued so Davey could get some directions to my house and I got a number to call him so I wouldn't freak out, "I'll be there soon, I'm leaving right after writing a note to the others so they don't think I went a jumped off a cliff or something." He laughed a little.

"See you soon, bye." We both hung up and I headed outside the apartment building to wait for him.

---------------------------------

'I can't believe I'm trusting this girl I don't even know to believe me...I know the guys would think I'm crazy, but something about this girl, I just...know she'll believe me, I hope’ Davey thought as he drove down the familiar roads of Ukiah to her house. He pulled up front and saw her standing there. He smiled and rolled down the window waving to her, she walked over to the car and opened the door. She sat in the passenger seat and closed the door behind her, "I want to thank you again for coming with me."

"How could I turn this down? I mean, I know we just met, but there's just something about you, I don't know what...just...something. Not the fact that you're Davey from AFI but just...I get this feeling..." she paused, probably thinking about what she was saying.

"It's ok, you don't have to explain, I have that same feeling. I've never told anyone what I'm about to tell you but something tells me to trust you."

"You picked the right person, I'm probably one of the most open-minded people around here, I'm willing to believe anything and everything. So when we get out just go ahead and spill it, I will never say you're crazy or weird." He smiled at her and she smiled back. The parking lot for the bike trail was up ahead and Davey pulled in. He got out and opened the door for Sarah helping her out. They started walking off onto the trail.

--------------------------------

I walked along the path standing next to none other then Davey Havok, and he was about to tell me something he had never told anyone...ever. I was excited and scared at the same time, scared that when he told me, I wouldn't be able to help. He stopped us after about 20 minutes of silent walking and sat on a log, patting the spot next to him. I sat. "Are you willing to listen for a while...this took me a long time to decide whether I wanted to do this, so, no interruption?" I nodded, "Alright," he took a deep breath, "here it goes...a few years ago, maybe 2 or 3, I met this guy at a bar. The bar had a good line-up of some local punk bands that night and I wanted to check them out. So I was there in the crowd watching them perform when one of the people on stage caught my eye. It was like he wasn't even there but...he was, or at least I think he was. It didn't look like he was playing but he had a guitar, I was curious, but since it didn't seem like anyone cared I ignored it and concentrated on the music. I was surprised when half-way through the set this guy just...left. I had seen where he had gone and I decided to follow. I reached a hallway that went down for no longer then the length of the 4 doors that I could see. I knew this mysterious guy had to have gone in there..." Davey paused to think a little more, I offered him a sip of my water and he gladly took a swig before continuing, "I entered the hallway and looked in all the doors, but I didn't see any sign of the guy. I knew he had to have gone that way, there was no where else he could've gone. So I just gave up, I didn't stay much longer because the crowd and act got boring. As I was leaving I didn't think much of what had just happened but as I was heading back to the hotel I saw him again, he still had his guitar on and once again he was just standing there, across the street. I looked closely and thought ‘he looks kind of like Jade’, in fact, after going across the street a little I began to believe it WAS Jade. I walked over to where he was standing but he disappeared inside the store. After that crazy experience I just felt like going back to the hotel...but little did I know that wasn't the last time I would see him....can I have another sip?" I handed my water to him.

"Just keep it." He nodded taking a few sips and brushing his long hair out of his face.

"So...I don't know what this is but I have come to the conclusion that it looks like Jade. It couldn't be anyone else, he has the guitar, the face, the hair, the clothes, everything. I was never able to talk though, I just see him, he's always standing there, with his guitar, his back to me, and then I get closer and he's gone. It's been driving me crazy, everywhere I go I see him. In crowds at shows, backstage in the hallways, hotel lobbies...he's just...everywhere. I don't know what to do, I can't take it, I wanna know...I just..." Davey had started crying now, "It's just too much, all I want to do is talk but he leaves me. I just want to KNOW before I lose all my sanity..." I stopped him by placing my finger to his lips.

"I think you have a little crush on Jade and can't tell him."

Davey looked at me speechless.
