» AS LONG AS YOU NEED ME-THE TRUTH

"Me? A crush on Jade?! JADE?!" Davey looked at me, he looked kind of lost, "But...I'm not..."

"Davey, I'm sorry. I know it may be hard to admit but the only way you're going to get over this is to tell Jade. He's worried, you know he is, so are the others. You have to tell them." Davey was looking down at his feet.

"But...what if they don't accept me anymore?"

"But what if they do? What if Jade likes you too? You say this ghost thing haunts you and it looks like Jade, you're confident it is Jade, but you say you can't catch it, right?" Davey only nods, "Well, I'm not really an expert on this stuff but I think that points to the fact that you like him, he won't let you catch him because you won't admit it...you love him, and you have for a while, haven't you?" There was long pause, I looked at Davey who had curled up on the log.

"...Yes, I do." He said almost in a whisper. Then his head went up, "I love Jade." He said a little louder, then turned to me, "I love Jade! Wow, it feels good to say that, but...what if...?"

"That's exactly right, what if? If you always worried about 'what ifs?' nothing would ever get done. You have to take a chance Davey. Let's go back to your house, I'll wait in the car and you go in and tell everyone. If something goes wrong, you know I'll be there." Davey got up and wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug.

"I don't know what I would've done if I hadn't met you."

"As long as you need me, I'll be there." I said smiling, "So, are we going?" Davey nodded and we headed back to the car.

-------------------------------

I watched Davey walk out of the car and into the house not really sure of what the guys would do. 'I really hope everything goes well..they're his friends, they'll understand. Right?' I sighed, turning on the radio and singing along to some Korn song.

-------------------------------

Davey opened the door and walked inside, he was greeted by a slew of 'Hellos' from his fellow band mates, "DAVEY! Where ya been, man?" Hunter asked, offering Davey a seat next to him on the couch.

"I was with Sarah..."

"Sarah? That girl you met at the restaurant?" Adam asked, sounding excited for him. Davey nodded and took the seat Hunter had offered before.

"Except, I don't like her like..."

"Suure Davey, you go running off into the night with her and you don't like her." Hunter joked. Davey sighed.

"Guys, please listen, I don't like her like that. She just helped me get through something, the thing that's been bothering me...I'm finally ready to tell you guys." All the guys now looked seriously as Davey, he took a deep breath and continued, "I think I'm...gay" An awkward silence fell over the room and Davey looked nervously around.

"I don't know what to say...that's just like...wow..." Jade said, sounding very surprised.

"And there's something else..." All eyes were on Davey again, "And I think...I love you, Jade." Jade glanced around the room.

"Me? ME?! Davey, please god tell me you don't love me..." Jade continued mumbling something about Davey being sick and walked out of the room. Hunter and Adam sat there speechless, not knowing what to do over what just happened. Davey looked at them, they continued to stay silent.

"Guys...say something. PLEASE." Davey said to them. They stared, finally Adam talked.

"I don't know what to say, I mean...I don't know. I'm cool with it and all but I don't know about Jade, I'm sorry man." Davey stood up.

"It's okay guys, it's not your fault. I'm the screw up, I had to love Jade. Why him? Couldn't it have been some random guy walking down the street that made me realize this..." He continued his rambling until he was interrupted.

"DAVEY! Stop, you're not making sense anymore." Hunter snapped Davey out of his mindlessness, "I think you should leave for a little, maybe Sarah will let you stay the night?" Hunter asked.

"She's out there to see if everything went okay, I'm sure she won't mind." Davey replied.

"Good, Adam and I will talk to Jade. We'll see what we can do. We'll call you tomorrow, okay?"

"Thanks guys...ya know...for not caring and all."

"No problem." Adam said smiling, "You're still the same Davey. Personally, I think you and Jade would make a cute couple." Davey couldn't help but crack a smile as he headed towards the door.

"G' night guys! Thanks again."

-------------------------------

I saw Davey leaving the house and frowned, 'Maybe something went wrong...', he opened the door and climbed in, "Well?" I asked.

"Jade...freaked out. Adam and Hunter are trying to calm him down a little, do you mind if I stayed at your place for the night?" he asked, smiling sweetly.

"Well you seem happy for a guy who just got dissed by the guy he liked." I said trying to make the moment a little happier. Davey laughed.

"Well, I may have admitted to being gay, but getting to spend the night at a pretty girl's house for the first time," he paused, "ever, is nice." We both laughed.

"Well it's good to hear someone think's I'm pretty, I've been single for too long." The rest of the car ride was nice with jokes and laughter. Davey was great to hang out with, I was lucky I met him.
