» AS LONG AS YOU NEED ME-JADE

Jade and I walked downstairs and everyone looked at me in surprise at the fact that I got him out of his room," Way to go Sarah!" Adam said. I couldn't help but laugh. Jade was looking around uneasily.

"Go ahead, Jade. Tell them." I pushed him a little forward. With his head bowed down he started to talk.

"Davey, I know you love me, or you think you love me, but I can't return that feeling. I mean I do love you, but as a brother, a really close friend, I don't know if I want to go farther then that." Jade stopped, there was silence. Then Davey stood up and wrapped his arms around Jade.

"It's ok, I understand. I'm not gonna make you love me, we're best friends and I wouldn't want to ruin anything. Don't worry about it." Jade looked at Davey and smiled.

"Thanks, man. And I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what? You can't help your feelings, just like I can't help mine. So, how about we just pretend this never happened and I...go meet some new guys?"

"Alright, deal. I'll never mention it. And guys, none of you can bring it up either." Jade said talking to everyone. I walked over to Davey and draped my arm over his shoulder.

"Would you like someone to accompany you on your guy-search?" I asked.

"That'd be great." Davey and I said quick good-byes to everyone and headed out the door. We climbed into my car and headed to LA where I knew there was plenty of clubs to find guys for Davey.

We parked outside an alternative rock gay club that I knew Davey would be able to find some guys who had similar interests, a friend had taken me there before and most of the people were in punk bands, or played some instrument or whatever. They were real music people and I knew Davey would need that, I turned to him in the car, "Just a warning before we go in, random guys will go up and dance with you, so if you have to just push them away, they'll go off and find someone else." Davey laughed, "I'm serious, dude, watch out for the crazy ones."

We walked inside and once the door closed it was like all you could hear was the pounding of the loud rock music blaring on the speakers. Of course, like I had warned Davey, a guy had already gone up to him, Davey glanced at me, I couldn't help but laugh at the face he made. The guy was grinding against him and Davey's face was practically one of pure terror. I walked over and pulled the guy off.

"Sarah?!"

"Whoa, Josh! What's up?" I said wrapping my arms around him in a quick hug.

"Not much...who's your new friend?" he asked.

"Oh right, Josh this is Davey, you kind of scared him a little, he's new to this." Josh laughed and patted Davey on the back.

"Sorry, dude, didn't know."

"It's ok..." Davey said a little stand-offish.

"We're trying to find Davey a nice guy-friend here."

"Well I'm your man, I know everyone here...practically. Do you mind if I take him?"

"Well, it's up to Davey, so?" I looked to Davey for an answer, he thought about it for a little bit before nodding.

"Yeah, I guess I'll go with you." Josh grabbed Davey's hand and started to pull him away.

"Great!" Josh said happily, whisking Davey off into the crowd. I headed over to the bar and ordered a soda. As I drank I sat back and watched the guys dancing and occasionally waved to a few people I recognized. I was calling the bartender over when I felt a hand on my shoulder and I jumped, I turned around and to my relief was a smiling Davey, "You scared me SO much." He laughed.

"Sorry it wasn't my intention," he paused, "I can't do this anymore!" he yelled sitting down in the stool next to me, a few people stared but didn't take much notice.

"What's wrong?" I asked rubbing his back lightly.

"I MISS JADE! I need him, Sarah. Josh introduced me to so many nice guys...but they're not Jade. No one gives me the feeling Jade does," his eyes started to fill with tears, "I just want Jade to love me back, its all I want." Davey was now crying too much to continue.

"Do you want to go back to my house?" I asked him after calming him down a bit. All he could do was nod, I led him out the door and to the car. We were both unaware of who was following close behind.

He ran to the door of the club and almost slammed into a guy standing by the door, "Why hell-o there." The guy said seductively, eyeing Jade up and down.

"Um, I'm looking for someone specific." The guy frowned, "He's kind of short, long black hair, he came in with a girl." The guy stared at Jade thinking for a second.

"OH, Sarah's friend?"

"Yeah, you know her?" Jade asked surprised.

"Of course I do, we're old High School friends. But if you're looking for her I saw her and...um..." The guy thought for a second.

"Davey?!" Jade interrupted.

"Yes, Davey. They left not too long ago."

"DAMMIT! They didn't tell you where they went did they?" Jade asked.

"Um, no, but I'd check Sarah's house."

"Thank you SO much..." Jade paused, not knowing the guys name.

"Josh."

"Thank you Josh." Jade said energetically hugging him before running out of the club.

Davey and I were sitting on my couch watching a movie in silence. He had stopped crying but you could still see the hurt in his eyes, I knew he wasn't watching the movie, "Davey?" he grunted, "Davey look up and talk normally."

"What?" he said sighing.

"It will be okay, I promise you'll get over this." Davey just shook his head.

"No, I won't. I've waited so long and then I finally get the courage to tell him and what does he do?! He rejects me! He doesn't love me, Sarah. He never will."

"Shh, you're gonna get yourself worked up again." I said scooting closer to him and pulling him into me.

"Why?! Just tell me why."

"I don't know why Davey, I don't know." I reached over and grabbed a tissue handing it to him.

"Thanks." he blew his nose. We stayed like this for a little bit longer as I tried to comfort him yet again. It took a little bit but Davey had finally calmed down, "Ok, I need to get over..." he was interrupted by a knock.

"Wait here." I walked over to the door and opening it, Jade was there. He was soaked and looked gloomy but had the biggest smile on his face, "Jade...what do you want?"

"I need to talk to Davey."

"I don't know if that's..."

"PLEASE! After Davey and you left I just lost it. I realized," he paused, "I love him too." I couldn't help but hug Jade, despite the fact that he was soaked. I led him into the living room where Davey was curled on the couch watching the TV mindlessly.

"Davey, someone wants to say something to you." He looked over but turned away as soon as he recognized Jade, he couldn't look at him, it hurt too much. Jade walked over and placed his hand on Davey's back.

"Davey, please look at me. I know you can." Davey slowly turned around and looked into Jade's eyes. Jade smiled at him.

"Now what? Are you going to tell me you hate me and you nev..." Davey was cut off by lips on his, he was surprised at first and didn't kiss back but once the whole thing registered in his head I saw his arms go around Jade and gladly kiss back. The kiss got deeper, I walked over and cleared my throat.

"Guys, please, if you're going to do anything, don't do it on my couch." They both laughed. Then shut me out again as they looked at each other.

"Davey, I love you." Jade said sweetly, "It just took me a while to realize that." A tear of happiness ran down Davey's cheek as two sat in a loving embrace on my couch. I smiled. The two were just so perfect together.
